winter wheels/tires 850 1994

Hi all. Above vehicle has 16" wheels. Has anyone dropped "down" to 15 for winter? Can I expect problems doing so? considering 195/65-15 Dunlop Wintersports. Comments, suggestions?
TIA.

I have a 97 850 R with 205-45-17 stock, and I run 4 snows 185-65-15 (owners manuel recommendation) in the winter. Makes the car ride a bit softer, I have no problems and traction is great.

Note: As long as the profile for the tire height is staying the same as what is original to the car, you should have no problem.

NO problem, in fact for winter you want thinner tires.

What? Wouldn't going from 16" to 15" give you a thicker tire, not a thinner one?

The suggested winter tires are narrower and taller in section (on a smaller wheel) than the summer tires.

Even World Rally Cars use this configuration for snow traction.
