New brakes this weekend 850

I've ordered Mintex pads and Zim rotors from our friends at fcpgroton.com. Great service from Nick there, he really seems to be helpful.
Anyone use this combo? Any advice...other than don't buy it, because it's on the way already! I understand the Mintex pads have shims on them, so no anti-squeal grease is necessary. You guys agree? I assume I just grease the "lugs" where the pads slide into the caliper. Any advice is welcome!

I've got the same combination on my car right now and they are coming off this weekend in favor of genuine brake parts. They squeal like crazy even though I was told by the folks at FCP Groton that the Mintex pads would definitely take care of the squealing problem. Since you've got them on the way already, I hope your results are better than mine.

I also apply a thin film of grease to the face of the piston and shim and a bit between the shim and pad. Anywhere there will be metal on metal. Let us know how the combination works out for you.

I just checked mine brakes out for wear and I'm good to go till at least next spring. I have no complaints about the OEM parts on my car so at this time, that's what I intend to use next time around.

Regards,

I'm with Erwin on this one. GREASE EVERYTHING where there is metal to metal contact, even with shims. Far easier to spread the grease while you are replacing everything than to have to disassemble and do the same thing again later on.
