Has anyone upgraded the ECU on a 98 V70 R AWD

As you can see form the above, I have an R wagon. The AWD makes it heavier. I have been toying with upgrading the ECU because I just love power. Has anyone upgraded the ECu on this particular model? If so, what was your impression? Did anyone also upgrade the exhaust? If so, what was your impression? If not, was this because someone told you not to do so? I recall e-mailing someone at IPD and they said it was not really necessary to upgrade the exhuast. Has anyone upgraded the exhaust form someone other than IPd (pretty expensive). Lots of questions, I know, but I like this stream of consciousness mode.

I have the IPD ecu & exhaust, and also 2 stage manual boost controller. The ipd does add power, but it comes in late by design, at 4,500 rpm. IPD said that's to preserve tranny converter. When I added mbcs the power band is now early, made a big differance. I also flushed tranny and installed synthetic atf.
How fast is the car now? I have not run et's yet, but there are some S-4's & M3's shaking their heads!

I don't own one but some of our customers do. We just had one in a couple days ago and the owner has the IPD rear dual exhaust and upgraded ECU YET I'm not impressed from my test drive experiences. The customer thinks it's fast but it's definately not as fast as 2WD turbo 850 w/o any mods. It's not the added weight of the AWD, it's the added 4 wheels being driven at all times that slows the AWDs down for the most part. Even if his car if faster than it was originally, for the $2K+ spent on those mods I'm not impressed as it's not much bang for those major bucks IMO.
