Has anyone chipped a 98V70 R AWD?

I know there are a lot of owners who have upgraded the ECU chip. My question is specific to the 98 V70 R AWD. IPD once stated that in order to upgrade this particular version, a torque convertor was needed. I contacted them and they told me that was no longer the case. I also know the IPD chip brings the horsepower in at 4500 rpms. I am looking for a chip that will give me more power lower than this but will not damage my AWD system. Any thoughts, comments, mindless chat, etc...?

    Has anyone chipped a 98V70 R AWD?

The reason the IPD chip limits torque at low end in 1st gear is to save the tranny converter. All that said, I added a 2 stage MBC with the IPD ecu, and now get boost earlier than any chip will offer because the MBC controls boost exclusively. The 2 stage MBC is nice because I run low (9 psi max)for every day driving, and high (16 psi) for fun time. I also use synthetic ATF, which does keep tranny temp down. It's nice to be able to adjust boost as you want. The exhaust installed easily but I added a 15" glasspack to quiet it down, it was a little too boomy for me. IPD suspension parts work nice too.
