Loud Exhaust S70

accelerating around 3500 rpm produces a loud roar of the engine, and dropping off the gas at 4k produces the loudest noise I've ever heard outta a car with stock exhaust. It literally screams at me. any ideas what the problem might be? car has 71,000 miles on it. i would be scared if this is what a deteriorating exhaust sounds like. thanks for any input.

    this may not help you one bit but when my 240 (which i no longer have) developed an exhaust leak before the rear muffler, my four banger sounded like a nascar. it was amusing for a while then got obnoxious. at a low point in the exhaust i'm assuming water settled and over time rusted through. since, the s70 has a one piece exhaust from the cat back i'll guess it's leaking at the cat or a hole has developed.

      I guess I'll have to get under there and give it a good looking over. turbo still boosts normally so I'm assuming its after the turbo. Must have somethin to do with the cat. I also have my first pair of warped roaters to deal with right now, as well as the stupid turbo oil ine leaking again. thanks again.
