acura tl????

are the acura 3.0 or 3.5 quicker than an 850 t-5? reason i asked is that was side by side with one last night at a stop light. when the light turned green, he took off but i didn't race him. i figured that he wasn't worth the risk of getting a ticket. just wondering if he would have beat me.
regards and happy holidays to all

acura tl????

The TL Type-S would most likely take out a stock HPT, at least 0-60. A regular TL, w/o the 260hp "S" engine would most likely lose to the HPT.

There is a lot of "scatter" in the data, particularly the C&D numbers.

Depends on a variety of variables, but ... based on the 850T figures published in R&T some years ago, I'd have to guess...well, yes, if it's the 260hp version it should.

The '03 V6 Accord sedan with AT and 240HP will beat the current V70T5 off the line, although their 1/4 mile times are virtually identical.

The '03 V6 Accord will also beat a 330i automatic.

Consult the www.car-stats.com database for quick ( but not always exact) data.

You could have smoked it... and it would have been close with a type S... Acuras need to rev high for max torque... It would have been close and fun!! It all gets down to the Cojones of the person in the driver's seat!!

I've raced several TLs 225 hp and blew them off easy off the line and high speed. The type S is quick, but we'll have to take the challenge one day. I've clocked 6.3 with my A/T in 0-60, and about 15 seconds to 0-100mph, which is very competitive with the Type-S.
