Tis the season; my battery died! 1998 S70 T5

Well my battery died and rather than stock stockings and buy presents, I have to replace my battery. Any suggestions on what to replace with. I'm leaning towards an innerstate. Let me know of your experiences with replacement. Thanks

Tis the season; my battery died! 1998 S70 T5

I installed a new Interstate Battery in my 1999 S70 T5M two weeks ago. It took only 5 minutes and fit like a glove. My original Volvo battery still charged however I remember reading how the OEMs fail without notice after three years and before four. Most batteries start to go bad in the heat of summer when the plates warp as they get thinner with age. The cold of winter and demand your car puts on your battery in the cold finishes them off. You can go on the Interstate web site to find the size and location of you local dealer. I think my car took the MT-47. Make sure you have the security code for your radio.

I bought a replacement battery last month as the OEM battery was three years old. The replacement was an Interstate MT-47(Mega-Tron 590 CCA) and it fit well but I noticed it was a little shorter than the OEM. I paid $109.00 CAN. and bought it from a independant auto parts store (local dealers wanted $150.00 CAN. for OEM) There is a date code stamped in the battery case, make sure that you get a fresh one as batteries supposedly deteriorate with age. I called Intersate's toll free info line and they gave me a list of nearby dealers.
