High pitched squealing sound from dashboard area at highway speeds V70-XC70

Was on the interstate last night and I heard a high pitched squealing sound that sounded like it was coming from behind the dashboard area. Around 70-75 MPH I don't hear the noise, but I do hear it intermittently at 80-85+, so I think its airflow related. I kept the speed down because I was afraid something might disintergrate out in the middle of nowhere. Because of a crack, I had the windshield recently replaced with another factory windshield, so I suspect an air leak somewhere. No problems at all at lower speeds. I never heard such a noise before the new windshield. What do you guys think?

Hey Red, the squealing noise you are hearing is infact the windsheild. You mentioned that it was recently replaced, I had the exact same problem. Really irritating noise. Anyway, at the top of the windsheild, peel back the top of the moulding. That space (from one side to the other) is causing the noise. Have the dealership fill it with this black putty type of material. Once I had that done(can't even notice), I was able to speed in peace...he..he..he.

I think you are driving too fast! Seriously though, if you live in northern states and just put on winter tires, they may be the cause. I have a set of Michelin Alpine tires that make this noise, especially in wet conditions.

I would get the people who installed your windshield in you car.....get up to speed, and let them here it.......then let them fix it.
Noise was not there before windshield replacment.....and now there is a noise....yea I think it would be safe to say they did not seal the new glass in correctly.
