Remote Door Locks Stopped Working 850 1997

I have 2 remote door locks on my 1997 850R Wagon. They both were working great until the past month or so when they both started acting up. I did change both batteries. They worked fine for a day and now one is dead and the other works only sometimes. Any help or tips? Thanks.

    You can try reprograming by:
turn the ign sw on and off 4 times, turn on the 5th, and hit the button. This programs the car to the remote, not the remote to the car.

Remote Door Locks Stopped Working 850 1997

    Hi Ray
I too, have had this problem for the past number of months. I have posted questions here, but I've got no replies (other than reprogram the fob and change the batterys) Both of my fobs can be programmed to my friends 854, so the problem seems to lie with the car. I have tried in vain to get a wireing diagram for the system but no joy. I have a gut feeling it might be the tailgate lock/switch mechanism that's at fault coz sometimes the interior light at the back stays on and has to be switched off manually. I will be investigating this further next month when I have more time and I will post my results for all to see.
Sorry I too can be of no real help, but I will let you know

    Pat

Happy new year to each and every one of you.

You might want to try re-programming the remotes.

I can't remember the exact procedure but I think you have to turn the ignition switch to the 2nd position 5 times while pushing the remote button.
