need specific info on leather steering wheel replacement - 2000 SE S70

The leather steering wheel cover on my 2000 S70 SE is getting sticky and gummy in the spot where I normally hold it - I know others have had thier wheel cover replaced on a "one time only" deal - is there any numbers or references that I can use when I go to the dealer?

I'm in Canada - always used Volvo leather cleaner and protectant - kept wheel clean and free from oils etc.

See if the dealer would goodwill your steering wheel. Volvo has a leather steering wheel wrap, but only in black.

i, too, had my steering wheel do the same thing. it became gummy at the 9 o'clock position. i complained to the dealer and he replaced it under warranty. he said it was delaminating (sp). that was a year and a half ago and the wheel is just fine.

Much easier to get a Wheelskin.com leather cover.
Look great and last years.

I've got a wheelskin - I wasn't initially 100% satisfied...but after I "broke" it in, I really like it.

Also have a 2000 S70 SE, and also had the steering wheel issue. I was initially turned down when I asked for a replacement, and I was then called by my dealer about a month later with a "change of heart". Volvo's policy seems ambiguous on this matter, but I know of at least two other Brickboarders who have been had their steering wheels replaced.
