Hi, my thermostat died last week (open),my temp gauge is always low and i lost about 50% of heating.I live in canada (quebec) its cold and snowy ,wich thermostat should i buy.I went on eastern aerospace and they sell the 180f thermo, should i stick to the volvos or a lower temp one.By the way i will install the ipd ecu and catback ( in 3weeks), does that make any difference??? thanks alot..... We had the T-Stat go on our v70, make sure you replace the Thermal sensor also. That caused the fan to keep running. It cost approx $150 at the dealer.

I would stick with the OEM thermostat. It's designed to stay open when it dies which I'm not sure the others are. They seem to croak around 60k miles (I have 2 and both needed new ones shortly after 60k. It's a pretty simple repair and the part was only around $20.
