drl disable (help needed) V70-XC70 2001

I just recently acquired a V70 T5. I do live in Canada where daytime running lights are mandatory but i would like to disable at least the headlight portion of the drl (I will be installing an HID conversion kit). I have searched archives and all I found pertained to the previous model years.

I just took the switch apart and there is nothing in there that I thought I could adjust.

Ideally I would like to keep the positioning lights and possibly the fog lights on as the DRL but if this is too complicated, I don't mind controlling them with the switch.

I did do this mod in the 98 A4 which involved removing a relay and creating a jumper wire between two connections. Is there a similar fix????

Thanks

Hold on....ther is a way to do it in the switch. If I remember right you will need to dril a small hole....or go from the back of the switch and look for a very small flat head screw(like on the US market models), and mess with that.
I know for sure ther was a post here that told exactly how to do it on a Can model....and it was in the switch.....I just dont remember all the details

You'll probably fnd the headlight DRL's are software controlled and a trip to the dealer would be required. Don't know if they'll turn them off for you in Canada. You'll probably have to hardwire the foglights for use as DRL's as these, too, are probably software controlled.
