Hi All,

Has anyone used a paintless dent repair service? If so, what is your opinion of this type of dent repair? It seems that this would be a great way of fixing a dent. I have been driving for over twenty years. I have never found a traditional auto body shop that will match up exactly the repaired surface to the rest of the car. Excuse me for being anal. Thanks in advance.

As the others have said, it depends on the skill of the repairer. I would add this caution: If he says something like he "can make it look 85%", don't bother. You won't be happy with the results. Only do it if he is confident that the dent will come out completely.

Another vote for Dent Wizard. Wife's Ody had a two inch crease from a door and our dealer subbed it out to them. Great work.

I've had door dings removed this way and the work was very good.
Dealer did it and subcontracted the work. if you can get your
dealer to tell you who they use you could save some dollars and know
you are getting someone experienced with this sort of work.

My car was caught in a hail storm in 1995, Over $4000 in damage from the Body shop estimates. The only panel on the car that did not have a dent was the passenger side front door. Every other panel was damaged in some manner. They worked on the car for a week, and it looks flawless. Still have the car, and no rust or unusal marks from the repair.

I would definitely recommend paintless dent repair. The only precaution I would give you is to find someone who is experienced and well-known. I was referred to the paintless dent repair "guy", by this good body shop. Luckily for me, the guy drives around and repairs dent (he came when I was at work).

He removed a total of 4 dents....1 major (size of a palm) and the rest were door dings. So as long as there was no paint chip on the dent, it should come out pretty much the same as before

Dropped a hammer on the caddy. Dent, but no damage to the paint. For $50.00, the dent disappeared without a trace. Wife's car. Color me happy.

I've had oustanding results with 2 door dings and Dent Wizard. The first one was a
3" long crease which is now invisible. 1 hour for that one, next one 30 mins.
Much cheaper than body shop estimate. If the ding is in an accessable area (their definition, not yours) they can handle it.

For SMALL dings, the paintless dent repair guys are GREAT! Several car dealerships in my area (Southeastern USA) use these services when prepping new and used cars, instead of having the sections repainted.

Of course, it all depends on the skill of the technician performing the repair. A close associate of mine has been doing it for two years, and he does an excellent job. As an experienced repairman, he can easily tell when he can adequately perform the job, or when it would be best to take it to a paint shop.
