Perhaps 'computer' is the wrong term, but this is the cool little device that displays exterior temp, dist to empty, avg MPG, etc.

But,whatever it is called, it sometimes shows "DISC" when I am changing modes. e.g. from avg MPG to avg MPH.

anybody know what DISC means on this display?

The switch for the different trip computer postions is faulty or maybe just has a poor connection in electrical plug on rear of it. The DISC is the Trip Computer's way of saying disconnected.

temporary condision: disconnected, i.e., no data.

My service advisor told me this happens when the switch is dirty and loses contact.

Mine does it often - another great feature of the 98 models. Wiggle the switch a little bit.
