2000 XC Transmission Fluid Change V70-XC70 2000

I discovered this site by chance recently and registered today. Here's my question. I need to flush my transmission that has 60,000 miles. The service book doesn't specify but having owned several cars I no better. Is this any different than usual automatics or is there some special trick to do it properly. On other cars I've had to drop the whole pan to replace the filter. Any reccomended procedures would be helpful other than taking it to a dealer or a quick lube station. Thanks in advance

After several Good comments from others I chose to do the full flush on the transmission. I did talk to a new Volvo Dealer Mechanic who told me what they do in the following:
Take a 5' 3/8" hose and connect it to the top transmission line next to the dip stick. squeese the green tabs on pull line out from radiator used to cool fluid. Attach hose and insert into gallon jug. Start engine and let transmission pump about three quarts out into container. turn engine off and add three quarts of new fluid to transmission. repeat this process until you use a case of fluid and you then have a clean transmission. I did this and it worked perfectly. I did remove two yellow o-rings and used a plastic strap to hold the hose to the transmission line and replace when finished. This is a lot cheaper that buying a transmission pump system and was very easy to do. In my opinion this is good stuff for the brickboard!

ON FOREIGN CARS I DO THIS TRANS.FLUID CHANGE EVERY YEAR BECAUSE MOST MFGS,GIVE YOU A DRAIN PLUG LIKE THE OIL PAN.THIS IS CHEAP INSURANCE.YOU DONT GET IT ALL OUT BECAUSE SOME STAYS IN TORQUE CONVERTER BUT IF YOU DO IT EVERY YEAR YOU WILL DILUTE THE FLUID AND MOST OF THE FLUID WILL BE FRESH.

Never.....so little comes out from the drain plug I think like 2 or 3Qts....there is like 12 or 13Qts in the dam thing. Volvo NA does say how they want the ATF changed....and its the flush method. IMHO..... any other plan....is just a waist of time!
