Here is the deal. I have a 850 Volvo with the stock 6 disk changer in the trunk. I used to not be able to play burnt cd's, but i found that Memorex does the job. My new problem is, i down loaded mp3 and made them into cds, and only one will work. I know that they work because on both i can skip forward tracks. Now, one of the cd works, but it takes a few minutes to work, or i have to change to a reguilar cd, then back to the burnt one and it will work, kind of like warming it up. But the other cd that i burnt will not play at all. I used the same kind of cd (Memorex 700mb 80 minutes) I am ver upset, and i hope that there is someone who can explain why it will not work.

I had a similar problem where the cd player wouldn't read the disk I had copied, but my computer at home would. I thought maybe the car player had something against Bill Cosby, but I figured out that my car player wouldn't read a cd that had 25 tracks or so on it. A Beach Boys CD i burned with 24 worked, Bill didn't. Most commercial cd's have 15 or so, but when I made a "Favorite Bill Cosby Kids Story" disc, it wouldn't read it. Hope this helps, Chuck.

Mike, I think that the problem has to do with the fact that your cd is burnt. I know that most of my cds work best when they are lightly toasted. Once I had a cd that was golden brown and it didn't seem to work as well as the others.

You may want to try it again when you are not so ver upset. In the meantime you can play a reguilar cd until you calm down.

The other thing to think about is that you downloaded mp3. The next time I would suggest that you download mp4 or maybe even mp5 since the extra number or two may help solve your problem.

Wow, buddy, grow up and get a better pastime than mocking fellow members. Mike is just trying to use a factory Volvo accesory and he was looking for other people with this Cd changer and this problem. If you don't like someone's question, simply don't respond, don't make a such a caustic reply.

Make sure you convert your MP3s to wave files before you burn your music to CD. I use the cheapest CDR I can find, and my 96 850T cd changer never has a problem playing them.

Also, you can go to Wally world or Radio Shack and by a CD laser head cleaner for little $$$. Dirty CD players/changers may play store bought (Silver pressed) CDs w/ no problems, but may have difficulty w/ burned CDs.

Another fix is to burn your CD at a slower speed...that can usually fix any problems w/ CD players not reading your music (this is especially true if you burn at speeds greater than 24x)

I use Memory 42x CD-R (I also burn them at 42x).. your problem could be you are filling the CD-Rs too full.. try around 70 minutes, and see if that works. And you shouldn't need to convert your MP3s to wave.. as long as you have a good software program (such as nero) everything should go ok

Well I tried everything i can think of. I used to use the color cd's and those worked and now thry dont. I tried to burn them at a slower speed. Do you think it could be somthing with the computer. You see i download live music, so its all one track. Well i bought this program so that i can break up the cd and have multiple tracks on the cd, could that be the problem???????

Nero and Roxio convert the mp3 to wave automatically in the music mode.
The volvo cd players dont play MP3. Only standard Wave Format.
