Reward !!!! I need to install door lock Switch 850 1995

I have a 95 850 & would like to install the switch that came on the 96 & 97 850, i know this is a different circuit, But I was told by a tech at Circuit City It could be installed. I have the switch & the harness & tried to install it according the the volvo factory manual but I could not get it to work. I am willing to pay a fee to anyone who can figure this out.

What function would this new switch perform? There is no way you will achieve the two-stage locking function that the '96 and up models have. At best, your switch will only duplicate what happens when you manually press and raise the doorlock on the driver's door (or front passenger's). If this is what you want, then just tap into the switch in the door and wire in parallel.

If you are really THAT determined, why not call 800-25-volvo (Volvos literature #) and order wiring manuals for both your 850 and the '96 850, then look up the wiring diagrams for central locking on both and see what the difference is? You (or someone) could then figure a way to wire it in.
IMHO, it'll be more of a pain to do than most people (even most skilled techs) to mess with. I'm sure that with determination, it's possible but most people wouldn't want to do it even if you offer to pay someone else unless they're in desparate need of work (standing around with nothing better to do).

I already have the service literature from volvo, I tried tapping into the wires with no success, all I am trying to do is get control of central via use of a switch to do the same function a driver door knob.
