Is 95k miles too late to get an IPD chip? 850

My 95 850 has 95k, but runs really well. It loses about 3/4 of a quart of oil between changes, under fairly hard driving.

Has anyone gotten an IPD chip this late in a car's life, or any opinion on whether this is wise?

95K is not "high mileage." 195K, well, maybe.

If your engine is in good condition (and it should be if it's been properly kept), I say go for it.

If you do get the IPD chip let us know how much of a performance increase you get, because I have a '95 854 Turbo that just hit 47,000 miles. I'm definately interested in the chip sometime this year. Remember, though that they recommend you get the exhaust done as well because the chip will increase the temperate of the exhaust gases which the stock exhaust system may not be able to handle.

Too late to grin from ear to ear when punching it.... never!!!

But, I'd ask Scott at IPD. Of course he wants to sell you one, but I'm sure he'll be somewhat objective and let you know if there are any additional risks.
