Greetings all:
I have to replace my smog pump and was wondering for those of you who have had to do the same have experienced more problems with emmission controls, i.e. O2 sensor(s) etc after replacement. My car only has 65M on it and it has proven to be very expensive to operate and I concerned that its the begining of the end for repair costs. By the way what is the cost for a DIY guy.
I'm considering ditching the car after I get it smog pump replaced, but I'm afraid I'll suffer from seperation anxiety afterward. I love the car, but I hate all the cash I spend on it for repairs. Its a major hate/love relationship.
When I was in college I had an 1982 S10 P/U with 170M with only a fuel pump to replace. Its absurb knowing what I paid for the S10 in 1992 is what I have easily put into this car for repairs in less than one year. Hell I may as well use the Volvo as a weekend driver and buy another $2,500 S10 p/u for the reliablity factor.
Thanks for the insight.
