Strange starting problem S70 2000

2000 S70 GLT approx 32K. 30k service done.

Twice over the past month the car has started (tach to about 1500rpm), then immediately stalled. When this happens, it takes a few tries to get started (just cranking, it does not re-stall), but when it does start, it runs fine afterwards. No check engine or warning lights are on.

Would there likely be codes stored? Any ideas?

Thanks for any help.

    Strange starting problem C70 2000

    KC,

I have a 2000 C70 with the exact same problem. Have you had your mechanic perform Bob's suggested fix? And, if so, did it work?

    Thanks,
    Mark

Likeley an immobilizer fault. They usually store a code in the ECU and the lmmobilizer system. Have seen quite a few 2000 model 70 series with immobilizer faults. The most common repair is to replace the female wire harness conector terminals at the immobilizer control unit and the antenna ring around the ignition switch.
