Seat Cushion Replacement? 850 1994

The drivers seat cushion is collapsing on my wife's 94 Volvo. Can't blame it on her for having a big butt though, because she only weighs 93-lb. Anyone ever replace the seat cushion on an 850? Is there any chance that it's not the cushion, but is instead the frame or the springs that have collapsed? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,
Steve T

Haven't done it , but would like to. My 850's cushions are much too soft. I drive long distances at the expense of my back. I prefer rock hard (Mercedes-esque) seats.

How is the sponge-ness of cushion specified?

My seat bottom is on it's way out too... if any one has reccomendations I'd love to hear them. I wish I could swap it with the passenger seat. That still looks brand new. It seems though that an upholestery shop is the only way to go. I don't want to mess with that side air bag at all.

I had this problem with my 91 940 after about 173K. Did some phone work on shops that install tops, and interiors. Found a local place that removed the seat cushion, installed new heavier weight foam, same shape, and put it back together. Cost was some $65.00 If I had to do it myself, I would have had to buy the foam, cut it to fit, glue the pcs. together, and reassemble. Seemed like a lot of work for a small amount of savings.
