power locks going nuts help! 850 1996

yesterday i was getting stuff out of the trunk and as i was shutting it all the doors locked. ok weird. this morning went out to warm up walked away and doors locked again. got in drove away locked again. as soon as I hit door lock button in car they lock again before anyone can get in or out. I set off alarm twice today. when I got home from work I decided to mess around, so I unlocked car and opened trunk doors didnt lock, when I got trunk about 3/4 of the way down all doors locked. I did this a couple of times and doors locked when the trunk was partly down. went out in dark and the little blinking light on dash board was blinking really fast or should I say going nuts. . whats that mean? I need some help with this one, dont wanna be trapped in car if I get in accident. thanks, kelly

You might check the wireing to the boot lid (trunk). It sounds like there might be a bare wire earthing when you move the lid to close it. Worth a look!

I know there is a timed relay on the door locks that automatically locks them when you have used yoru remote to unlock them and never open the door or trunk. It takes about a minute before it does this. When the ignition is turned on however, this relay disables itself as the doors don't autolock after driving. It's probably a problem with this timed relay, but it is just a guess. I have no idea what it is called or where it may be located. Door definitely should not lock themselves when the vehcile is only running. My only other speculation is a possible short in your drivers door lock, which needs to be turned to disable the alarm when it sounds. Since you mentioned your alarm going off as well.
