Homelink on S70? S70

My father just purchased a '99 base S70 this afternoon. On the driver's side sun visor, there are three buttons, all labeled #1, 2, and 3. We were told by the salesman (Keeler Volvo) that it is a device that allows you to control such things as garage door operation, outside lights, etc. Does anybody know how this device works, and was it a popular option on '99 S70s?

    Don't have Homelink on my Volvo S70 - but have it in my Lexus. It works great! Opens garage doors and can be programed to activate/deactivate home security systems etc.

    You'll have to program your garage door remotes into the homelink system. There "should be" instructions on programing in the manual. You'll love it when it's operating! Good luck!

    The owners' manual has info on Homelink. Unfortunately, that's about the only option my '99 T5 does not have.

    It's a common option on many higher end cars. The system can be trained to operate most garage door openers, including the newer "rolling code" types.
