ERG Valve '93 854 ..... Am I nuts? 850

I think I finally went over the edge! I have been giving my '93 a good going over for my son (1993 854 127k mi). He has had problems starting it up. We finally traced it to the CMS. Great! I have had some time so I decided to change all the fluids, clean it up and make it sound and drive like it used to. I'm just out in the garage cleaning the flame trap assembly and puttin a new one in when I decide to take the throttle body off clean it up and while I'm in there clean up the EGR sensor and valve. I get the throttle body off and no EGR! None! the place where the 8mm bolts should be is there but its sealed off. no EGR valve no 22mm nut conecting the tube to the exhaust manifold. no sensor. no nothing. Am I crazy? I have set aside three days to replace the distributor, rotor, plugs, give it a good cleaning. Replace the CMS. etc etc I don't want to spend the time looking for my freakin' EGR. Where the hell did it go? I have a gasket for it but I don't have IT!

So far all my experience as a weekend grease monkey have been good. I'm slow but thorough. I like it. But when I look at my Haynes and then at Bay 13, and then at my baby I always see what's suppose to be there. Where is my freakin'EGR? I feel cheated. What am I going to do with my freakin' gasket?
Help. Time is running out. Where is my EGR? I want my EGR? ... I think!
