Amplifier wiring 850 1993

Just finished installing the new stereo in my 854GLT and now it's time to do the subwoofer. It has its own amp which requires direct power from the battery, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for getting past the firewall, and also from the stereo to the trunk. Thanks in advance,

I'd avoid the accessory power connecter, and get power straight form the battery.

I used a line out adapter and tapped into the wiring for the rear seck speakers for the RCA's, and then tapped into the antenna for the remote turn on.

There is a rubber tube on the left side of the steering column, that has some nipple sized ports on it. Just cut the nipple off, and use that. That is what they are for. There is also an accessory plug under the drivers side of the dash. It has several teminals, some switched, some not. The diagram is in the manual. That is what I used.

I have a 94 854T and also added a sub in the trunk which required direct power from the batt. If you look on the drivers side under the hood there is a fuse panel, if you take the cover off of it by removing 3 or 4 screws you can see a bundle of wires going through the firewall. If you lay on the floor on the drivers side, you can also see these wires coming through. Depending on the size of wire that you need to feed through will determine how tough this will be. I had a #12 wire and got it through with little problem. I snaked that wire along the interior trim pieces along the door sills to the trunk with no problem also. Good luck!
