    I didn't when my thermostat went bad. Working fine now.

    Not ordinarily. Do you have some reason to believe the sensor is bad?

      No. On the volvospeed site it recommends changing it since it's right there. I was just wondering if it was absolutely necessary (I didn't buy the part so I was concerned).
