Turbo oil sippage - normal in what sense? 850

So, I finally got the turbo oil leakage verdict the other day at the shop. It's very minor, so recommendation is do nothing for now.

I also see that this is considered normal.

My questin is, is it normal for '850 turbo', or normal for 'any turbo', including non-Volvo models?

Do you see this type of leakage in other brands, too?

Just curious.

TIA.

The typical leak is not really in the turbo. It is
the oil return line that drains oil back to the engine
(a gasket fails). I hear its a 99 cent part. This would
be specific to Volvo. See

http://volvospeed.com/Repair/turborepairline.htm

for details and the repair procedure.

I would not say it is normal, but it is common.

Mike - What year is your car? Mileage? Where is the oil leaking? How much?
Any other info?

It's 96 855T, ~75k miles.

He just mentioned the leak at the turbo, not main seal.
Very little that I wouldn't notice the level drop between oil changes.
