S60/80 Steering Wheel and Stereo S70 1998

Does anyone know if the steering wheel and stereo form the S60 or S80 will fit the S70? I would like to get the steering wheel stereo controls in my S70. I would go with the stero also if needed.

Can't work, won't fit. Besides, there's nothing all that good IMO about any newer Volvo sound systems. If you want to upgrade, you can get far better for ALOT less money aftermarket AND most now include remote controls too IF that's important. Me, I can easily reach the dash and the only time remote control would come in handy is if you're parked and in the back seat, many eons ago in my world ;)

I don't know anything on the steering wheel issue, but I'm almost sure that the stereos won't fit. If you need steering wheel remote so badly, you can get an aftermarket unit with the steering wheel remote but I don't think you'd want that :)

I agree with Genie. Even if the S60/80 steering wheels fit mechanically, they will not work for you because there is no direct wiring between the wheel-mounted controls and the radio. The S60/80 employ a serial multiplex bus that interconnects most of the switches, controls, and accessories. The steering wheel switches, radio, window switches, door locks, lights, etc, are all connected to the bus and a central body computer that processes the instructions. Without the central body computer computer, there is not a way for your steering wheel and radio to communicate.
