Hello, I had my 2002 S80 into the dealer for the 7500 mile service a while back and recently at 9000 miles the time for regular service message came on the text information window. I plan to do my oun oil changes and to return to the Dealer is very inconvienent. I have followed all the postings here to reset the maintenance reminder but it wont delete. Please,can anyone help me?

1.trip odometer set to #1 readout
2.turn key to acc position, press trip button and HOLD.
3.when trip odometer geos to zero (keep holding button in) turn key to on position-do not start.
4. keep holding button untill trip odo. returns to previous milage read out.
you may now release button. TURN KEY OFF and then restart to see if reset was successful.

Procedure did not delete message "time for regular service"
In drive position II, holding the button in, the milage reappears and a single chime sounded. 045 code appeared in the Text Information Window for a second. The time for regular service message retured when i start the engine. I can delete message before the two minute cyle by pushing in the READ button on end of message text lever. What does the 045 code mean? thanks. Leo

Unshure what code 45 is...i have never seen that one.
i have come across a very few 1 out of about every 25 or so that for some reason will not reset unless done through VADIS.
if your service reminder was not reset at the last service at the dealer ...take it back, they should do it at no charge. if there are any other fault codes set in any of the systems and they try to do the "upsell"to you, ask for a print out of the codes.it can be done ...dont belive them when they say it cant.(some dealers for some bizzar reason dont like to give this info out)you can also have the interval changed for when the light returnes(there may be a charge to do this, this option should have been given to you free of charge when you took delivery of the car, sometimes returning to your salesman or sales dept. for these kind of problems works better than dealing with service).adjustment period for problems like this is 12 months 12k miles.
