Installing a cd changer V70-XC70 1998

Has anyone installed a aftermarket cd changer on a v70 wagon? where does it get installed. I heard in the back but where would the wires be? Thanks

Is there an adapter on the market to connect an other audio-device on the cd-changer connector? Like an MD portable for instance... ??

    Please, mail me at e-ciesluk@zonnet.nl!

    Greetings Erik

I also installed an Alpine. It was 15 minute job. Cable for changer is pre installed and you will find the changer "end" on the driver's side of the car, in the rear cargo area, just below the side window under the wooden floor panel. You might want to pull the radio out of the dash to make sure the cable is plugged into the rear of the radio too.

      John K.,
I opened the wooden floor panel on the drivers side and only found what looked like a drain tube for water run off. I also opened the corner panel where you would go to replace a rear light bulb and found one connector with a single red wire coming out of one end a three coming out of the other. Does this sound familiar? Maybe this cd changer plug in located in an obsecure place?
      Thanks in advance,
      Mase

Mine was beneath the floor panel on the driver's side, not in the rear tail light area panel. You can pry the floor panel off the floor, its held down by a couple of bayonet clips. I think if you already have the cd player in the dash with the CHG (changer) button you should be prewired for the cable to the changer in the rear. Its a black cable, similar to video coax cable. If you still don't know where to look leave me your e mail and I'll shoot a picture of mine and send it to you.

          John,
I did find what looked like a coaxal cable but was connected to another coaxal which makes me think it's for the side window antenna. If you can send a photo that would be great. Send it to jmason@web-ster.com . I'm located in Oregon near Portland.

          Thanks in advance,
          Mase

I installed an Alpine CD changer in my V70 AWD 1998. They put it in the boot under the compartment on the left had side, but you can also get it installed in the in the dash if you are willing to give up the storage space.
They hid the wires so well that I'm not even sure where they run.
