2001 V70 Vibration Problem....

My V70 2.4T has recently developed a vibration that could be felt through the floorboard and gas peddle. I took the car to a local Volvo dealer, they drove the car and did notice the vibration. When all was said and done they said that everything looked fine and that they only adjusted the tire pressure. I continued to notice the vibration on the drive home.

I then took the car to a local tire dealer and had the tires rotated and re-balanced. I still have the problem (didn't really think that it was the tires) Any ideas? The car has only 16K miles. This is one problem that is driving me nuts.

    2001 V70 Vibration Problem....

If not cv joints or bearings, tires are the problem, most likely. I have had sets of tires become so loud I sweared the wheel bearings were cooked. If the tires are worn, replace them. Also when you get them balanced, make sure the installer does road force balance. Hunter makes this machine and it's the way OEM mounts tires. This machine checks tire runout and out of round which can cause vibration. This is why a new car rides so nicely. It will also check wheels too.

    2001 V70 Vibration Problem....

Did they rotate the tires front to back? If it is a shimmy due to a tire problem or wheel problem this should greatly diminish it or eliminate it entirely. If there's no change, then the wheels/tires are not likely to be the problem, and you can look for other causes.

What kind of vibration? V70-XC70 2000

Is it like a warped rotor vibration, or like a loud road noise vibration. Have you checked your alignment?

I have a terrible loud road noise/vibration on my '00 V70 XC that is giving my dealer a fit. It sounds like I am driving in an old truck with huge mud tires on it. It's not the tires or brakes and their guessing keeps getting more expensive.

What kind of vibration? V70-XC70 2000

      Thanks for a response.

The type of vibration that I have is this (and it is a bit hard to explain). It feels like my left foot is scraping the pavement, also I tend to think of it as my foot going over marbles at times. It doesn't matter if it is a rough road or a smooth road, it still feels strange. A lot of road feel coming into the cabin floorboard.
