I'm replacing my pitted original lens' and want to try the newer platic types rather than the glass. Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated. Of course the plastic can be had for $60 apiece from NewandUsedVolvoParts.com while the glass comes in at $90. The OEM are ridiculous in price.

    Plastic pits faster than glass, though acrylic polish can help you keep up with this. But whatever you do, get e-codes (euro spec) for better light pattern.

    You get what you pay for....do want steel or aluminum?....plastic or metal?....diamond or cut glass?....fine wool or acrylic?...I think you get my point....

    You can get a glass lens (mfd. by ScanTech Sweden) for under $60 on eBay. I did, and it's working fine. Don't know about plastic, though.

    I would recommend the E-code original equipment euro lens. It has a much better pattern than the US-code DOT lens. You can get them from FCPGroton.com for about $85 each, with new gasket and clips. They are factory Volvo parts. Anything else is just a compromise. Don't try to clean the reflector with anything but a clean rag, chemicals seem to dull the reflector. Good luck ........ Mike

    The Plastic ones I was referring to were 1. a cheapie from NewandUsedVolvoParts for $59 or the PMMA plastic one from VolvoWorld for $72........
