Does boost differ between sport/econ modes? 850 1995

It seems as though my stock boost gague shows much different reading between sport and econ modes. For example, in econ when flooring it the gague will go like 65-70% at the highest, and in sport like 85%. In either mode, is the boost ever supposed to be 100%?

That switch just changes the shift points in the tranny logic, it doesn't do anything with the boost pressure. You probably notice the boost climb a little higher because in Sport mode it lets the engine wind out a little farther before shifting to the next higher gear.
