Road Trip Service Suggestions/What to look out for. . . 850 1993

I am planning a road trip From San Francisco to Seattle and back again in December of this year, total of about 1600 miles round trip. While I know this is a ways off, I'd like some suggestions as to what kind of service I should have done in anticipation. I am at 93k and will probably be at 94k by December (I don't drive that much). The timing belt was replaced at 52k and should be done again by 100k? Should I just have it done before the trip? The car is serviced regularly oil/serpentine belt etc..

I was thinking of taking it to my Indy and just saying "check her out", but am a bit nervous about such an open-ended request.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

definately have the following handy:
spare fluids (oil, brake, coolant, etc..)
extra bulbs
extra fuses
fix-a-flat (also have your spare in good condition)
cell phone w/ car cord(to call for help, or to call and tell someone you're running late)
water
some basic tools like a leatherman or swiss army knife
switch out that volvo lug wrench for something better
maps
flashlight
camera
something to do at a rest-stop
an umbrella

good to do before you go:
check tire pressure/condition
do an oil change
check brake fluid
check transmission fluid
check brake pads and rotors
make sure your route is planned and you have reservations in place
check all belts and hoses
check air filter
check your A/C

1. One spare accessories (AKA serpentine) belt and tools and diagram (belt path) to replace one on the road.
2. 2 or 3 quarts of motor and transmission oil/fluid each and 1 bottle of power steering & break fluid (I think you can use ATF) each.
3. At least a gallon of 50/50 antifreeze water mix.
4. Make sure the spare tire has right air pressure and tools to replace one.
5. A flashlight
6. Keep an extra pound or two tire pressure on each tire.
7. Check all hoses (PS, Transmission to radiator, especially the engine coolant hose and etc) for cracks and leaks.
8. One of each spare bulbs for break, turn and head lights.
9. Windshield washer fluid.
10. State maps.
11. A baseball bat and a glove.

I got my timing belt replaced at 90k miles. I think it had the original belt because there was no belt replacement mileage note on the cover and it was at the brink of snapping (thread visible on the belt).

It is a good idea to keep things handy. I do. That does not mean that you will have problems on the road.

If you have taken preventive maintenances and good care of the car you may not have to do anything. Just drive. I can :)
