70-series Sway Bar End Links -- cost?

I just bought two for my S70 from volvopartsdirect.com for $36.91, after S&H. ($14.94 before S&H, and tax if you're in NY.)

Out of curiousity, those of you who replaced your sway bar end-links -- what did they cost from the dealer? Volvo Parts Direct says that the retail price on these are $72 each!

Picked up some for $37 each from Boston Volvo...by the way, if what you bought are ScanTech, you will replace them twice before you have to replace the OEM ones...

I don't know about the brand -- all that I can say is that they're *probably* not Volvo parts. But honestly, I'm not sure. Take a look at the replacement and the OEM parts, side by side:

You can see that the end caps on the links are different, without those ridges that the OEM parts had on them. Also, the "Volvo Spare Parts" sticker on the box is somewhat suspect. It doesn't say "Genuine Volvo Replacement Parts" or anything like that, although the use of the Volvo font and colors might indicate that they ARE from Volvo. Lastly, the text on the top and bottom of that sticker says "The Art of German Engineering" and "Front Suspension."

German Engineering? Granted, about half the parts on the car were made by Bosch and other suppliers, but... I dunno. On the other hand, for the price, and 45 minutes of my time, what can it really hurt to try them?

Hmmm....looked at the pictures and they looked different than the ScanTech's that I just replaced in that they were black instead of unfinished. The volvo OEM parts have a torx fitting on the end of the balljoint shaft so that you can use that to hold the shaft while tightening the nut...the scantech has the flattend base like the replacement ones you have. Perhaps these are as good as OEM? Hard to tell...you'll know if they start rattling quickly...I won't use anything but OEM for suspension stuff anymore...
