Sticky brake

I just finished installing new brake pads and rotors on the front axle of my front-wheel drive 1997 Volvo 850 GLT. Before putting the tires back on, I pumped the brake pedal several times to seat the pads, then turned on the ignition. The left hub spun freely, but the right hub did not spin at all. When I pushed lightly on the gas pedal, the right hub finally would spin, but with a grinding noise. When I let off on the gas, the right hub stuck again while the left hub continued to spin. Any ideas as to what the problem is and what I need to do to fix it? Thanks for helping me with another of my adventures.

I would try removing the troublesome caliper and pushing the piston in further, with a C-clamp or caliper spreader or whatever it takes. Then try it again.

Just to clarify my previous message, I turned on the ignition and shifted the car into "Drive" before the left hub began to spin freely.
