Oil Higher than MAX on dipstick 850 1993

Hi all,

Does anyone know what happens to performance/engine life when oil is filled higher than the max on the dipstick (I have a '93 850)? The manual says not to do it.

Mark

Just drain some out. It will take all of 5 minutes. Or, at the rate these puppies use oil, it will probably go down all on its own.

are there much more oil than there should be?

too much oil can cause leaks in seals and such ...

id recommend you to drain some oil untill the level is below the MAX.

( MAX while engine is cold ofcourse )

I did that to my 940T and posted a similar question. The response that I got was that as long as the oil brether box is clear, there shouldn't be a problem. I would assume that that holds true for the 850 as well.
