Things always sound easier than they turn out to be. It has been a while since I did this, but to the best of my recollection I removed the two 14mm bolts, then raised the engine up as far allowable. I used either a 1/2" ratchet or breaker bar. I think that on one or both of the bolts I needed to use a swivel or a short extension. The real key was adding an 18" inch piece of pipe that I keep around for this purpose to my wrench. This gives me about a two foot long handle to pull on. If you are using a swivel, make sure that it is braced up against something.

Hi Phantom,

How high can the engine be jacked up ? I am considering using a 17mm swivel socket (impact type) with a 6" impact extension to connect to my 1/2" elecrical impact gun. I need to know the max. space avaliable after raising the engine to it's upper limit such that it will fit the swivel socket and extension piece.

Also, in your post, why the swivel socket needs to be braced up against something ?

Thanks,

I posted this by replying to virtualincs question. For some reason it has appeared as a new post rather than a reply to the previous post.

Are you just trying to change the rubber mount from the upper mount????

No, he is talking about the right side engine mount, on the passenger side subframe next to the passenger side wheel well. It is very difficult to remove the 2 17mm bolts due to the tight space in that area.
