Hi everybody,
I imagine I'm not the only person this has happened to...I have a new V70, have had it for only half a year, and have put all but 17 of its 8k miles on it. After driving a Corolla for 9 years, I *love* this car, and now look forward to my commute instead of feeling beaten up by it. And of course the love you have for a new car is crystallized in that "new car smell"....But just before Father's Day my 7-year-old daughter gave me an early present and inaugurated the car by vomiting all over the back seat and floor and side (outside and inside). (Poor kid--in between heaves she was saying "Daddy, I'm sorry I vomited all over your new car.") My wife had rolled down the window to get her to vomit outside, but she mostly missed. We were an hour away from home and had only two little napkins in the car, but when I got home I scrubbed the carpets, door, and seats with soap and water (including the inside of the seat, which filled up as a result of the openings created by the built-in booster), and then wiped down the seats with Armorall wipes. But some of the vomit went *inside* the door as a result of the cavity created by the open window, and some went inside the speaker grille on the lower inside part of the door. I let the car air out, and my wife and mother-in-law say they can't smell anything anymore, but I still do. Any suggestions?
