Need help with windshield wiper problem. 850 1993

Wipers died.
Fuse is ok.
They have been inoperable for about a week.
Today I swithched them on and off and eventualy they moved.
They only moved about 1/2 a cycle and stopped.
The nuts have been tightened with lock washers so I know they are not slipping.
I will access the wiper motor and check for a loose connection and or bad ground.
Is there a relay involved?
Is there anyone out there with wiper exprerience who could help ???
Thanks in advance,
Jack W.

sounds like maybe a bad switch!

try removing the switch from the dash and jumping the wires to see the wipers work, if they do it is the switch.

behind the switch there is a harness plugged in to the switch, unplug the harness and turn on the ignition/not starter with the key, if you have a test light or multimeter, check for power in the harness, when you find the wire with power, use a piece of old wire to jump from the power to the other wires in the plug, see if you can make the wipers work.
