Sleak S70

Damn. Is is just me or is the S70 the best looking Volvo out there incl 2000 and newer? Every time I see one on the road it just warms my heart. I guess this was the last "real" Volvo made. I have had my 98 since then and never get tired of the way it looks. Sharp. Anyways, small repairs aside, she's worth every penny...

I'm with you JR. My wife drives a 2001 V70 (new design) and it just doesn't do it for me. My 2000 S70 GLT/SE is a knockout. In addition to being great looking, it has an aggresive look that is signaling to other cars on the road, "Stay out of my way and don't mess with me or I'll give you a real reason to talk to your insurance agent." I think I have the last Volvo made and from that point on they are, in some part, Fords and morphing more to be Fords.

I agree also. I have a 2000 GLT/SE with upgraded wheels and spoiler. It definitely turns heads! I purchased it in 2002 after looking at S60/S80 as a replacement for a 14 yr old 740. After looking at other makes also, I could not make a better decision than to get the S70 which a local dealer had on the lot. It had most of the options offered for that year and I love every minute that I spend driving it!!! Volvo for life!

I've always liked the Amazon/122 (especially in two-tone paint).
Stopped making them in 1970. To a certain extent, I think the newer
models (s60) look like an evolved 120 series. Here are some nice photos:

The 850 wagon is a pretty "handsome" car, too.

Although I have the sedan, I always wanted the wagon (but the wife don't like it). I love the 850's with the spoilers. Black or white with tinted windows. Maybe one day...

Yeps, she's a bute. The 1800P as well. The 240 although a classic got to be the ugliest (no offence) and some old geezers who drive them think they own the road....Haha

The S70 is by far the handsomest car on the road. It has lines that are broad and solid. Now if they had only gotten my A/C, engine, and chasis problems fixed in the model years before my 00 I'd be happy as hell.

I really wanted a wagon too. I'm freakin 23... and I could've used the wagon to haul my clubs, and baseball equipment but the future wife wanted the sedan. It was this or a truck, and the volvo was much safer.

The lines of a volvo are classic and simple. Its just down right attractive and looks more expensive that it is.

Doc,

Now I'm totally biased here since I've got a '98 S70 GLT black w/beige leather and wood trim. I think it is a fine looking car that definitely looks more expensive than it is.

But, I also like the S80 and maybe the S60 R with the deep spoiler. Actually, I think Volvo usually designes classy cars. Some of the 200 series remind me of locomotives with their powerful front ends.

My fantasy is to own a pristine 120 series someday. Oh well, no harm in dreaming.

Bryan

In a world of cars that all look alike, I am proud to have sexy styling and straight lines in the 1998 S70 as opposed to "bubble" cars. All new cars appear as if they are expanding to a sphere shape. And take a look at any car's interior. Anyone, just pick one at random. Even my bosses new mercedes has a cheap looking interior compared to my volvo. My simulated wood looks better than most real wood. I see a future drawing close where everyone's car looks just like a saturn.
