S70 Door Bubbling S70

Hi, I've read a few post here about the inside door bubbling up on the 1998 S70's. Do all 1998 S70's do this or just some? I've been looking for a used S70 and the first one I saw had it on 3 doors. The second 1998 S70 did not have this at all. If it's OK now, will it stay OK or is it bound to happen sooner or later? You think Volvo would have done a recall on this. Any info? Thanks.

    I've heard of the glue problem on the 940/960 models and they were fixed by the dealers if the customer complained. I suggest you visit your dealer, even if it is outside warranty, and have them fix it free of charge. Good luck!

    It started happening on my S70 a few months after it was out of warranty. It's now appeared on three of the doors. Unless it was repaired previously, it will likely eventually happen. The fault is Volvo's "environmentally friendly" glue. Friendly to the environment, not so friendly for the consumer.

    I've read in a couple places that this can be a problem caused by an issue with the laminating adhesive. But it doesn't seem to be an ubiquitous problem, and I have not experienced it and my indy tech has only seen it once. It's a much bigger issue in late model 960s.

    I have velour seats and door panels on my T5 (with leather steering wheel and shift boot!) and that's one problem I have not had. No, absolutely no bubbling!

    My 98 S70 has not had this problem. I've owned it since new
    (April of 1997). It is garaged over night and I live in an
    area with moderate climate (California Bay Area). My neighbor
    also has a 98 S70 without any panel problems.
