Windshield trim and door problems 850 1996

Can anyone help w/ these 2 problems on my 96 850R?

1- My windshield appears to be missing a rubber trim strip at the top. Anyone know where I can get one and is it difficult to put on? Also- will the car be OK to drive in the rain without it? (It hasn't leaked yet, but I'm not sure if the hardware(??) beneath the trim can take the moisture).

2- My drivers door has no "spring" action to it. I'm afraid of damaging the door when it's opened hard...any suggestions? I'm not sure but it appears the spring mechanism is within the door itself.

Thanks

You can purchase the windshield trim piece from the dealer - I think about $29 (rip off ).

I replaced mine a year ago only to have it fall off again.

I tried reinstalling it but it's distorted and won;t lay flat.

Maybe I'll just go without the damn thing.

Just another pain the butt volvo oddity that never seems to occur on other cars.

The door will need to have leather panel, door cover panel, door handle, speaker, speaker cover removed, be sure to remove all fasteners/bolts. Dealer has the necessary hinge parts and picture to show latch location (good time to change the rubber boot cover). This is a common failure and the parts are normally stocked. Regular lubrication and being gentle with the door will lengthen life.

As far as the windshield, this is a common problem. It's just a trim piece and is not meant to waterproof anything. You can certainly drive without it if you so chose, it's just the eyesore that goes along with it.

As far as your door, it's probably a shot hinge.

You could pick up the trim from a junkyard. As far as the hingge, I believe they're welded in and you'll need a body shop for that one.
