Check engine light S70

To get rid of the check engine light can you just disconnect the positive battery cable for a few minutes like you can in some vehicles. Will this eliminate the CE light or do you need an OBD to clear the CE light?

AutoZone will scan and reset your CE light for free.

What year is your S70? disconnecting the battery cable works in my 1998 S70, but from what I understand it doesn't work in the 99-2000 model, but you can clear the codes in the 99-00s another way, if you dig through the posts you'll find one about doing that.

My S70 is a 98, hopefully, this will work. I just hate resetting the radio and all the stations, so I just thought I'd ask first, thanks alot.

In my 98 S70 the station memory seems to be non-volitile so all you should have to do is enter the radio code.
