Headlamp Wiper Motor '99 S70 S70 1999

Greetings All,

One of the plastic gears inside the headlamp wiper motor has worn out and I was surprised to learn from the dealer that the motor assembly costs $175. Is there a place where one could buy the individual platic gear? Also, does anybody have a favorable experience buying used Volvo parts on the Internet? I'm thinking about buying a used motor assembly if I can't find the platic gear elsewhere.

Thanks,
Bill

Most people just unplug those when they go bad and out of warranty as you don't really need them IMHO. It wasn't one of Volvos better ideas.
Even in winter when salt cause cause headlamps to look dim, a quick swipe with your hand or a paper towel does the trick in between car washes.

I do the same with my headlamp wipers. My left one gone bad about a year ago and the cost to fix was unreasonable, so I just unplugged it.

I have the worst experience ever with my Volve, don't know why you Volvo royal fans like them so much. One thing I can stand is the rattling noises. On average something goes wrong in every 2 to 3 months.
