CAN I REPALCE STARTER 850

I need to replace a starter on my 97 Turbo Wagon. Is this something that can be done by someone at home with a reasonable knowledge of mechanics or is it best left to a professional? I have restored many 65 66 Mustangs so I am not ignorant to such but my Volvo is a totally different animal!

    I came across a post in Volvospeed forum in which the detail instruction was listed. Not is difficult task for us.

    Yes, It is easier than it looks especially if you can get access under your car safely. Cedrtainly if it is similar to the early models - I checked mine (93 model) and it seemed easy enough. Volvo don't like their customers to be stranded.

    Is it bust or does it just need new bearings/bushes?

    What is the problem?
