S70 Door Panel Question..Not Bubble Issue!! S70

Hi everyone...So I'm driving to work today and noticed the insert panel (the inlay panels with the door latch and window switches) has come unglued from the rest of the door panel. I thought about doing this myself by taking off the panel and gluing it all back...But, it is under 4yr/50k factory warranty..so any suggestions?...Is it worth a try..i know mechanics and glues do not mix...lol...I can see the future of a sloppy job...So if I decide to do it myself per your advice...what adhesive should i use that is safe for vinyl???...I remember that 3M has an adhesive in a red tube that I put my Silver aluminum dash trim in with?...sound familiar to anyone??..Can i get it at Home Depot?..Anyhow...any advice is much appreciated...I will go to Volvospeed.com for door removal info...Also is it recommended that I get extra door pop-out plastic tabs that hold the door in?..I hear they tend to break upon removal..Thanks all...Lance

    S70 Door Panel Question..Not Bubble Issue!! S70

    Lance,

If it's under warranty, let Volvo buy you a new door panel.

The insert can be fixed. You'll need an adhesive that does not dissolve the foam padding. I used a spray product I got from an upholstery shop. The work is tricky and requires PATIENCE.

Volvo also has a repair kit (@$50.US) that will do two doors. Their fix is mediocre IMHO. It does not have the foam backing of the original and cheapens the interior. You'll also want a skilled tech to install it correctly.

If you're stuck buying your own complete panel, contact Phillip @ Swedish Engineering--best price, best service.

    Good luck,
    Bryan

Thanks Bryan..but its just the entire insert coming undone from the panel..not a vinyl issue..but thanks for the info ...they have already replaced all 4 door panles due to bubbling...this one just popped out
