Thanks for your reply, i have a friend who recommended the oil solution that you gave. Blow by is exhaust or smoke which comes out of the fire trap or crank case vents, i have been told to replace the oil seperator which is located under the intake manifold but i am not sure wheter this is legit or not. Thanks again for your response, it makes me feel better someone else is having success with that motor.

    Hi,

I got a 10 valves 850 94 with 255000km on it. Nice engine. Only problem I got are:
-Valve clicking on cold start (hydraulic lifters, it can take up to 5-7min - worst case - to ajust themselves and sound stop) Not only related to 10 valves negines, any volvo with hydraulic lifters are subject to this ajustment lag.
-Got Valve seal leaking a little bit (burning oil) but solve this issue by putting 15-50w oil in summer and 10-30w in winter. It really help oil consumption.

Don't have any other problem. Maybe you can define me what you mean by "blow by" ... I dont really understand the meaning.

    Bruno
