When I attempt a tight turn, especially when the air conditioning compressor is engaged, my car stalls. This also happens in neutral, with the steering wheel in a hardturn (After I rev the engine and the engine approaches idle, it stalls. No engine warning lights).
Anyone had issues like this?

You probably need a throttle body cleaning. The gunk buildup doesn't allow the electronic throttle, servo controlled actually, to operate properly. I just had mine cleaned in the '99 V70 after the failed AMM was replaced.

I took a closer look at the throttle body last night. I didn't realize the build up would be behind the 'flapper'. I applied some carb cleaner to a rag, cleaned it out ... car runs like new.

The throttle body wasn't gunked up at all. It had just a little 'glaze' in it.

Forgive me, but what is an AMM?

I've got 55k and the throttle body has never been cleaned.

Something I noticed last night... the air conditioner and a hard turn REALLY put a lot of strain on the engine as the RPMs approach idle. What controls the idle? Whatever is supposed to maintain idle at the moment of gear down is apparently failing.

Nope, no odd noises and the power steering fluid is leveled off.
