Throttle Body?? C70 1999

Hi all,

Where is the throttle body on my 99' C70?? I've been trying to find it, so I would be able to clean. Do I have to lift the car for the cleaning process or is it just an over-the-hood thing??

I've already been to the volvospeed site, but looking at the pictures, just made me more confused (i'm a minor maintenance person).

Thanks for all the help!

blup...the actual flaps or butterfly that you are trying to get to are located inside of the electronic throttle module, this is like a box aprox. 6 inches long...mounted to the underside of the intake plenum...actually getting this out is no joke...the easiest way is to remove the intake plenum entirely...but be carefull..I recommend an easy "decarb" service from a local friendly garage...

not sure, but I think it's more difficult on 99+ cars because the have ECT Electronitcally Controlled Throttles, Fly by Wire as it's commonly known.

Anyway, I think that makes the throttle body a bit more hidden, though I really hav eno clue.

you get to it by opening the hood.

Follow big hose from air filter housing to throttle body(underneath intake manifold), you can't miss it.
